About David!
David founded Slate Path in 2012 and serves as its CEO. Previously, David was a partner and managing director at Blue Ridge Capital in New York. David joined that firm in 2000, the same year he graduated from Columbia Business School. Prior to attending Columbia, David was a CPA and consultant for Price Waterhouse in Washington, D.C. David also earned an undergraduate degree in business administration from George Mason University in 1993.
David is a board member of Columbia Business School and a member of the executive advisory board of the school's Heilbrunn Center for Value Investing. As an adjunct professor, he taught a course in advanced investment research for several semesters, focusing on practical applications of research intensive fundamental investing.
David is a former member of the board of directors of the Success Academy Charter Schools, a former founding board member of the Josh Waitzkin (JW) Foundation, and a cofounder of 1455, a non-profit seeking to advance the creative arts.
Roles in OCDareToBe!
Director
David is a member of the OCDareToBe Board of Directors. Through this position, he helps to govern the organization, keep track of its finances, and organize OCDareToBe employees and volunteers.
Mindfulness Coordinator
As OCDareToBe's Mindfulness Coordinator, David works directly with individuals in OCD recovery as well as clinicians to help educate them on the importance of mindfulness, and to lead them in OCD-specific mindfulness exercises.
Lived Experience of Raising a Child with OCD
After navigating the difficulties of raising a daughter with OCD, David is an educator and advocate for gaurdians navigating raising a child with OCD. He teaches gaurdians about how them and their children deserve to be treated, as well as how to advocate for themselves and their child in different settings such as schools.
